The Alchemistress

Lindsey Ross is a large format, wet plate collodium photographer using very, very big cameras to capture scenes in a tactile, one-of-a-kind way. By using the same type of equipment and process as photographers used in the 1890’s, she also captures the same timelessness in her work.

In one of the small documentary videos on her website she said something that really stuck with me:

“Before, I used to worry about if what I did was important, if anyone cared. Now I just focus on my work.”
